Norma Exposure

Counterparty exposure,
recomputed on demand.

PFE with and without initial margin, limit usage, what-if and stress, recomputed before the trade and when markets move, alongside the SA-CCR figures from Norma Capital. Supervisors ask for limits monitored daily and stress at the pace of the market; an overnight batch cannot do either.

Supervisory expectations

The ECB's 2023 report set out 43 sound practices for counterparty credit risk, made remediation a priority for 2024 to 2026 and ran a counterparty-risk scenario exercise in 2025. The practical demand is the same everywhere: know your exposure before the trade, re-run it when markets move, and stress it without an IT project.

Norma computes

  • PFE profiles per netting set and counterparty
  • SA-CCR exposure and capital, from Norma Capital
  • Pre-trade incremental exposure and limit usage
  • Initial margin under ISDA SIMM, and the exposure that remains after it
  • What-if on trades, market data and collateral terms
  • Historical and hypothetical stress, on demand

Exposure by netting set

Profiles over time

Expected exposure, PFE and expected negative exposure per netting set out to maturity, recomputed on demand.

  • Any netting set, any date
  • Limit usage alongside
  • Pre-trade incremental view

The difference a trade makes

Exposure before and after a what-if on the same chart, so a new trade, an unwind or a change of terms is judged on its real effect on the profile.

  • Before and after on one chart
  • By netting set
  • Novation, unwind, new trade

The terms that shape them

The CSA terms of each netting set, thresholds, minimum transfer amounts, variation and initial margin, editable for what-if and re-run live.

  • CSA terms, VM and IM, per netting set
  • Change a term, re-run live
  • Trades and counterparties behind it
Integrations
Change a netting set's collateral terms and assess its impact, to see whether it is worth renegotiating with the counterparty

Stress on demand

Pick saved shock scenarios and apply them to the book in a what-if run; exposure and limits re-run without an IT request.

  • Historical and hypothetical
  • Saved and reusable
  • Same engine as capital
